Hi! I’m Katie, a Canton, Ohio based photographer!
I first fell in love with photography when my father bought his first "fancy camera" and brought it to any family event and vacation. I was fascinated by it and always asked him if I could take a picture. Photography was something we bonded over and he showed me the basics: the the rule of thirds, how to focus a camera, and the basics of editing. Going through these photos and looking back at these precious memories he captured over time, made me want to do the same. My parents bought me my first camera for my 19th birthday in 2017, and with the help of my family and friends, my love for photography grew into what is now Katie French Photography LLC.
After many years of experimentation and using my friends as models, I realized that what I love most is capturing real moments and connections in life and in a way that feels timeless. I want to provide you photos that you can look back on in 10 years and cherish the memories of that time, just as I do with my father's photos from my childhood.
My style is best described as a mixture of posed lifestyle and candid moments, editing in a way to preserve color and boldness through shadows and light. I never want to dull down a moment by reducing color tone, and I strive to create images that reflect you in that moment. Whether I’m photographing a family's portraits, my mom's golden retriever, or a couple's big day, I focus on telling the story unfolding in front of me.
When I’m not behind the lens, you can usually find me hanging out with my two cats, Ember and Gracie, trying out the newest local coffee shop, going on a hike, doing yoga, thrifting, creating jewelry, or spending quality time with those I love. I love to travel and got to study abroad in Italy as I am currently a nursing student and will be graduating in 2026!
